Data Deletion Instructions
Kaeru stores your durable food history locally on your device. AI requests and service records are also processed off-device as described in the
privacy policy. Deleting the app removes its local Core Data and queued entries, but does not immediately remove every service or third-party record.
How to Delete Your Data
Delete Local Kaeru Data
To delete Kaeru data stored in the app's local container:
- Delete the Kaeru app from your device
- This removes local food entries, queued entries, settings, and cached suggestions from that device
- Keychain identifiers can survive app deletion and reinstallation
Delete HealthKit Data
If you synced data with Apple Health:
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone
- Go to Health > Data Access & Devices
- Select Kaeru
- Tap Delete All Data from Kaeru
What App Deletion Removes
- All food entries and calorie data
- All app settings and preferences
- All cached food suggestions
- Subscription status (subscription itself is managed by Apple)
What May Remain
- Service request and job records until their retention-based deletion completes
- Failed asynchronous invocation payloads for the configured dead-letter queue period
- Device-support records, trial records, CloudWatch operational logs, and Keychain identifiers
- Apple Health records, device backups, AI-provider records, and Meta attribution records controlled by the relevant platform or provider
You may contact us about service records associated with you. Our ability to locate or delete them may be limited by pseudonymous identifiers, retention-based deletion, legal obligations, and records controlled by third parties.
